ICAJ and MSBM, UWI Sign Collaboration Agreement

icaj agreementThe Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM), UWI, signed a Collaboration Agreement recently at the ICAJ Secretariat in Kingston, with the objective of providing training to promote entrepreneurship.

Mr Sixto Coy, ICAJ Vice President and Chairman, Continuing Professional Development Committee said at the signing, “We welcome this new initiative which will assist us in fulfilling our mandate to provide for the training and education of our members and the general public and to advance the Accountancy profession.

“With goodwill and a strong commitment to work together, we look forward to taking the next steps towards achieving our objectives during the coming months.”

The Agreement shall be for a period of one year and is renewable.

Dr. William Lawrence, Director, Professional Services Unit, MSBM, expressed appreciation to the ICAJ for its support over the years and said that the Agreement would strengthen their longstanding partnership.

Also in attendance were representatives of ICAJ, Mrs. Elaine Robinson, Secretary, Mrs. Rosemarie Heaven, Executive Director, Council members, members of the Continuing Professional Development Committee, and representatives from the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM), UWI,  Mr. Michael Williams, Unit Head, Accounting & Finance, and Mrs. Ingrid Bennett-Lewis, Project Officer.
