ICAJ Annual General Meeting Highlights

The fifty-seventh Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) was held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on July 21, 2022 to among other things, receive the reports of Council, the President and the financial statements and report of the Auditor for year ended March 2022. 

The Principal Officers who will serve for the year 2022/2023 are: Allison Peart, President; Eric Scott, Vice President; Sharon Donaldson-Levine Treasurer and Elaine Robinson, Honorary Secretary.

Of the three Candidates for Council, Eric Mardner was re-elected while Sharon Harvey-Wilson was newly elected to serve on Council.  Former Council member Marlene McIntosh who served on Council for nine years, did not seek re-election. Many thanks to Council Member Marlene for her devoted service to Council, ICAJ and the accountancy profession.

Throughout the year, ICAJ unfortunately lost some of its members.  A moment of silence was observed for Cathy-Ann Shim, Leonard Condell, Reginald Chantrielle and Millicent Hughes.  Former employee Kenrick Reid who died after a brief illness, was also remembered for his invaluable service to the Institute.

President Allison Peart used the occasion to recognize members of staff for their long and dedicated service to the Institute.  Staff members were awarded for five and more years of service. Of special note were Sophia Dorman, Accountant and Nordia Collins, Member Services Officer, for 21 and 15 years respectively.
