ICAJ/ACCA Joint Scheme Examination Programme

The signing of the Joint Scheme Agreement in 1984, between the ACCA and the Institute, set the stage for the Institute to mediate on behalf of students sitting the examinations locally, in addition to handling their registration and all administrative queries.

The professional qualifying examinations cover fourteen subjects, divided into three stages, which must be completed within ten years of the first examination diet.

If you are a resident in Jamaica, you must register with both the ICAJ and the ACCA under the joint scheme programme.

Association of Accounting Technician (AAT)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica provides support to accounting technicians under an administrative agreement with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), which took effect on January 1, 2002.

The agreement allows for the establishment of local support for the AAT in Jamaica through ICAJ, which will provide services to AAT students and members including student registration and general administration as well as the collection of student and membership fees.

The Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) gives Accounting Technicians a route to qualification with chartered professional accountancy bodies. AAT Examination Scheme consists of two parts - Devolved Assessment and Central Assessment. The scheme consists of a number of units of competence organized into three stages: Foundation, Intermediate and Technician.
